A Loved Child of God

I'll never forget a word of advice
Our Heavenly Father gave to me,
Don't lose sight of your dream my dear child
Of that person you want to be.

You can make it come true
That dream pictured you
No matter how near or how far.
If all along the way
In your living each day
You never forget who you are.

For the you that you are
This minute this day,
Is molding the you that will be.
And every thought, action, and word
Is shaping that entity.

Now, it's a good idea
To look on ahead
And fix your gaze on a star,
But all along the way
In your living each day
Never forget who you are.

Worry is the Devil's trick

Worry is the Devil's Trick.

It can make your body sick.

If you let it have its way,

It will steal your joy away.

Worry fills your mind with doubt,

and tells you things will not work out.

A doubting heart cannot believe.

A worried mind can not receive.

Feed your faith. Take time to pray.

Cast your cares on God each day.

Worried thoughts make you distressed.

But God is good. He wants you blessed.

The Wholeness of God’s Love

 The wholeness of God’s love

Lets our spirit soar,

It guides us over the mountains

It walks with us along the shore.

It plants us like a tree

Rooted firmly in the ground,

And sets our soul free to love

Forgiven; and heaven bound.

The Light of Love upon Darkness

The light that transforms the darkness

Is not perceived with the naked eye,

It takes up residence in the heart

And came down from on high.

It lights upon the soul

Transforming raven into dove,

And changes the very essence of life itself

Bringing joy, peace and love.

A Tree
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
